There's nothing like a good facial mask for making your skin feel new. This simple DIY recipe is quick and easy to whip up and does a nice job of cleansing your skin, tightening the dermis, and leaving you feeling fresh and renewed.
I chose French Green Clay for drawing out impurities and toxins and soothing the skin. I add witch hazel for it's cleansing properties and because it helps tighten the pores.
Organic Sweet Almond Oil is soothing, and Paprika has naturally occurring Retinol (vitamin A), anti-wrinkle properties, and it restores blood flow to the upper dermis.
I use Geranium essential oil for combating dry skin, and Frankincense for fighting aging, wrinkles, scarring, sagging and sunspots. I add Tea Tree essential oil for it's antiseptic properties and for fighting skin blemishes and I add Cypress for it's anti-aging and constricting properties which combats wrinkles, and sagging, and restores blood flow.
4 tbsp French Green Clay
1 tsp Organic Paprika
2 tsp Organic Almond Oil
5 tbsp Witch Hazel
5 drops of Frankincense essential oil
5 drops of Tea Tree essential oil
5 drops Cypress essential oil
10 drops Geranium essential oil
Carefully and thoroughly mix all your ingredients.
Store in a 2 oz jar.
Note: If your mask dries out between uses simply add a small amount of almond oil and witch hazel and stir back to consistency.
Currently drinking: Water with Lemon EO
Currently diffusing: Joy and Bergamot
A few notes!
*Use glass because it better preserves and protects the oils. Dark or colored glass is always better than clear glass because oils can be damaged by the UV rays allowed to penetrate a clear glass bottle.
*Vitamin E contains natural preservative qualities. Not only is it great for your skin, but it will lengthen the shelf life of your homemade products.
